Sarah Hird Integrative Psychotherapy

A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life

Welcome

My name is Sarah Hird and I am both a Psychotherapist and a Veterinary Surgeon, splitting my time equally between the two professional roles. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and am fully insured. I am keen to support other veterinary professionals, though of course am delighted to work with anyone who seeks me out. I have my own lived experience of the transformative power of therapy and thus bring a genuine confidence in the therapeutic process.

As a therapist, I endeavour to offer you a safe, warm, empathic and nurturing space in which you can express your true feelings without fear of judgement. I am a formally trained Relational Integrative therapist. 'Relational' means that I recognise that the essence of therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship that forms between the therapist and client. 'Integrative' means that I synthesise a number of therapeutic theories, flexing my approach according to your bespoke requirements.

Therapy provides an opportunity to foster a better connection to our authentic selves, with greater awareness of our needs, emotions and truth. Counselling is not about advice giving, but instead empowering you to grow and meet your true potential. Counselling can lead to improved emotional regulation, improved relationships, reduced anxiety and stress, improved wellbeing, confidence and self- compassion and a clearer path ahead.

Speak in Confidence

I will provide a safe and confidential space for you to express what you are thinking and feeling without fear of judgement, My aim is to empathically meet you and try to understand what it is like to be you in the world as fully as possible.

A problem shared...

Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.

Choices

Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.
